TEMECULA (AUG. 29, 2014) – Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley has announced it will host World Habitat Day starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Old Town Community Theater complex.

The event - which is not a fundraiser for the non-profit organization and is free and open to the public - will feature fun for the whole family, including essay and drawing contest prize announcements, attendees can check out the completed designs from the Lego Building Contest and vote on who the winner will be, complimentary appetizers and beverages (provided by E.A.T.    Following the festivities, Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley will show the movie, “Happy” (PG-13), at 7 p.m. inside the Old Town Temecula Theater.

“Happy” takes us on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the slums of Kolkata in search of what really makes people happy. Combining real life stories of people from around the world and powerful interviews with the leading scientists in happiness research, “Happy” explores the secrets behind our most valued emotion.

Admission is free, but reservations are requested by contacting Kimberly at 951-296-3362, Ext. 0 or Kimberly@habitativ.org.

World Habitat Day was established in 1985, and is a day set aside annually to recognize the basic right of all humanity for decent shelter, declaring that poverty housing is morally and socially unacceptable. Together, we can make a difference.

The event is a great way for families across the Inland Valley to discover the steps they can take to help Habitat for Humanity in the advocacy of  decent, affordable shelter.
